With each chapter in North Texas' development, thousands of immigrant families have recognized the city's potential and have come to participate in its ever-growing prosperity. The DFW metroplex is the fastest growing area in the nation, our new Ellis Island. We're an exciting region in which 44% of the residents 2,836,950 people - are New Americans, with 1.8 million of those Latinos. Two hundred thirty nine languages are spoken in the North Texas area, more than a third of these reflect African cultures new to this region. In fact, one hundred percent of the City of Dallas’ population growth now comes from immigration.
