"As a parent I know how important it is for our children to know about the countries from which we Americans migrated. It is a natural curiosity, one that we need to nurture so they will be proud of the rich and varied heritages we left behind. Fiesta Latinoamericana! is a great opportunity to share with our families the exciting sounds, flavors and traditions that make our Latino community so special," says Councilwoman Jasso. "It will be a honor to help showcase the talents of our Hispanic youth in the plaza at Fiesta Latinoamericana! through their sidewalk painting, mime and clown artistry, folkloric and indigenous dances, and youth mariachi groups."
As the Americas and North Texas celebrate the 200th anniversary of Latin America's independence from Spain, Fiesta Latinoamericana! presents a family event that captures the rhythms and flavours of a traditional plaza, with
