DFW International Community Alliance announces the International Dinner Party with Mayor Tom Leppert with Matthews Southwest as presenting sponsor, on Tuesday, October 23rd 6:00 p.m. reception and 7:00 p.m. banquet, at Gilley’s Dallas (1135 S. Lamar St., Downtown Dallas between Southside on Lamar and the Dallas Convention Center.) Tickets are $65 per person or $1,000 for an International Community table and must be purchased in advance from DFW International by Wednesday, October 17th. The event flyer can be downloaded HERE.
For the first time, our international communities will formally be recognized as significant and important contributors to the DFW metroplex as Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert addresses international business and community leaders representing over 30 ethnics groups. He will speak on topics that include the roles New Americans play in our cultural/economic development, the proposed Dallas Office for New Americans, and what we need to do to take advantage of opportunities in our international marketplace. We will acknowledge the many cultural, civic and economic contributions "New Americans" bring to enrich the lives of our citizens and to enhance the international image of our great city.
Guests will enjoy our International Texan menu that includes Tapas Internacionales (variety of global appetizers), Mayor Tom Leppert's favorite Texan dish, Pasticceria Internacionale (selection of global desserts), and Kahwa and Chai (coffee and tea).
“We are excited to have, for the first time, the Dallas Mayor address so many diverse communities at the same time on issues relevant to the growth of our metroplex and the influence that New Americans have in that growth,” says DFW International Interim Chairman Ahmad Sbaiti. "The evening will conclude with a ceremony honoring the DFW International Hall of Fame inductees." The new honorees are prominent individuals and organizations that have significantly impacted our communities, locally and globally. Those inducted into the Hall of Fame are those who have demonstrated dedication to empowering new Americans and minorities, courageous thinking, hard work, innovation, and motivating leadership.
