Dallas, TX - DFW International Community Alliance will host a fundraising luncheon with keynote speaker Dallas City Manager A.C. Gonzalez on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the Belo Mansion, 2101 Ross Ave, in downtown Dallas.  Mr. Gonzalez will speak on the topic Building Dallas as an International City.   Individual tickets cost $100 and are available at;  or checks can be mailed to DFW International, 9064 Stone Creek Place, Dallas, TX  75243.  In addition to the City Manager, other local dignitaries will be present, as will other prominent leaders from the Dallas area legal, business, and international communities.   

The DFW Metroplex is the third fastest growing areas in the nation, and half of this growth is from international migration.  Mr. Gonzalez will recognize the contributions of global migrants to the metroplex and will discuss what needs to be done to build Dallas as an international city.   Mr. Gonzalez has built a strong record in municipal management for more than 28 years, with 14 years serving the City of Dallas as an Assistant City Manager.  As City Manager, he is responsible for the daily operations of the municipal organization and manages a staff of approximately 13,000 employees and a budget of nearly 4 billion dollars. 

Tax-deductible contributions made for the luncheon will support DFW International Community Alliance's educational programs like the Guide to English (ESL) Classes for Adults and ESL citizenship classes, plus the online international calendar and the weekly cultural bulletin that reaches 65,000 people.

DFW International Community Alliance is the portal for global North Texas, a network of the region's ethnic and internationally-focused civic, community and educational organizations. Its mission is to build mutual understanding and respect by linking diverse international cultural communities.
