DFW International Community Alliance is proud to present the 2nd Annual Fiesta Latinoamericana! on Saturday April 19, 2008 at the Amphitheatre at Oak Point, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway (across from Collin County Community College) in east Plano. Food will be available for purchase, and coolers, lawn chairs and picnics are welcome. The Fiesta Latinoamericana is sponsored by the City of Plano, Univision 23, Univision Radio, KNON and Al Dia.
The evening starts at 5:00 pm with a FREE Family Fiesta!, with the following children's cultural workshops: Latin American storytelling, clowns, folkloric dance workshops from Chile / Spain / Argentina / Mexico, Capoeira (Brazilian martial arts) and Afro-Latino drumming.
The multimedia show that begins at 8:00 pm features dance, live music, theater, and film. Tickets are $10 for adults, free for children, and may be purchased at the gate or online at www.dfwinternational.org/FiestaLatinoamericana.
This year the program will be built around these four great literary figures::
MEXICO: Carlos Fuentes
SPAIN: Miguel Hernandez
CHILE: Victor Jara
ARGENTINA: Horacio Quiroga
